Prompt Builder (Salesforce)
Salesforce's no-code tool for designing, testing, and managing prompt templates that connect records to LLMs — core to the Einstein generative AI stack.
Prompt Builder lets Salesforce admins build prompt templates without writing code. A template defines: (1) what Salesforce record types/fields it consumes, (2) the prompt body with merge fields, (3) which LLM to use, (4) safety/grounding parameters. Templates become callable from Flow, Apex, or Lightning components.
Use cases: generate a personalized email from a Lead record, summarize an Opportunity history, draft a knowledge article from resolved Cases. Prompt Builder integrates with the Einstein Trust Layer for masking and grounding, and now (2026) with Agentforce's agent topics.
The trade-off: low-code accessibility comes with limits — complex multi-step prompting or BYOM scenarios often require platforms like gptfy that sit on top of or alongside Prompt Builder for the advanced cases.
